Hayley E. Settles

Hayley E. Settles is an Atlanta native, growing up in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She attended the University of Alabama, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Linguistics. Hayley received her law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. While at John Marshall, she served as Justice of the Hollowell Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta and advocated for low-income families in divorce and protective order cases under Georgia’s Student Practice Act. Hayley continues to volunteer with Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation to offer pro-bono assistance for families in the metro Atlanta area.

Hayley lives in Morningside with her cat, Bob, and enjoys cooking, mixology and reading classics in her free time. She is among the world’s foremost fans of the great American author Cormac McCarthy, and through her zealous advocacy Hayley epitomizes McCarthy’s famous lines from his book “Blood Meridian”: “War endures. . . War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.”

Hayley practices family law, military law, and criminal defense. Hayley is a member of the State of Georgia Bar Association, Georgia Family Law and Child Protection & Advocacy sections, Georgia Young Lawyers Division, Georgia Association for Women Lawyer’s, Sandy Springs Bar Association, Stonewall Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, and the Family Law, Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers, and the Women in the Profession sections of the Atlanta Bar.
