A temporary protective order, or TPO, is a court order that helps a victim of family violence receive protection from the individual (or individuals) that are instigating the abuse or harassment. In most cases the TPO prohibits contact between the two parties. In this video, Steve and Patty Shewmaker go over TPOs and the process for obtaining a TPO from the courts.
